Acrylic Painting

I’ll provide supplies on the first day, so please don’t purchase any new supplies until after Day 1. 

I’ll demonstrate the different types of acrylic paints, and let you test them to find your preference. We’ll discuss brushes, palettes, and canvases, and go over the basics of Painting. 

On Day 2, we’ll do a lesson in color mixing. 

On Day 3, I’ll teach you to create a thumbnail sketch and value study, and you’ll paint an underpainting on your canvas. In the next three classes, I’ll show you how to finish a simple landscape, and how to check your work for success. Beginners will work on an 8x10 landscape photo along with me. 

Intermediate acrylic painters will be able to choose a more advanced landscape photo, and will be able to start painting on Day 1.

Advanced Painters will paint from any photo subject (landscape, portrait, floral, etc.), and will start  painting on Day 1.
